Description / Abstract:
TIA-102 digital radio systems may support a trunking mode of
operation. This document provides details of the procedures
required such that, where systems are configured in the trunking
mode, voice services should operate in accordance with the goals of
the TIA-102 suite of standards:
a. Support any TIA-102 Trunking SU;
b. Interoperate across any TIA-102 digital radio trunking
system;
c. Independent of the particular equipment manufacturer.
This document describes the procedures necessary to support the
TIA-102 Trunking services, and provides the necessary guidelines
for infrastructure requirements to support interoperability of
these trunking services. This document is consistent with other
pertinent TIA-102 documents, namely:
a. Project 25 FDMA Common Air Interface (TIA-102.BAAA-A);
b. Project 25 Trunking Control Channel Formats (TIA-102.AABB-B);
and
c. Project 25 Trunking Control Channel Messages (TIA-102.AABC-D)
(to be published).
This document does not explicitly address any procedures
required in support of any non-trunking (e.g., conventional) modes
of operation.
