Description / Abstract: FOREWORD

This document prepared by EUROCAE Working Group 25 was accepted by the Council on January 16, 1986.

It supersedes the "Minimum Performance Specification for Ground Distance-Measuring Equipment (DXE)", ED-31, of July 1980.

EUROCAE is an international non-profit making organisation in Europe. Membership is open to user3 and manufacturers in Europe of electronic equipment for aeronautics, trade associations and, under certain conditions, non-European Members. Its work programme is directed to the study of technical problems facing users and manufacturers of electronic equipment for aeronautics and all related questions. It aims to contribute at national and international levels to the solution of such problems.

The findings of EUROCAE are resolved after discussion amongst Members of EUROCAE, European Airlines and interested Administrations, and in collaboration with the Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics (RTCA), Washington D.C., U.S.A., through its appropriate committees. However, this does not apply to Ground Equipment Specifications.

The Minimum Performance Specifications are recommendations only; EUROCAE is not an official body of the European Governments. Its recommendations therefore are not valid as statements of official policy unless adopted by a particular government or conference of governments.
