Description / Abstract: This approved method describes the procedures to be followed and precautions to be observed in performing optical and electrical measurements of AC-LEDs for total luminous flux, total radiant flux, total photon flux, color characteristics, electrical voltage, current, and power. This approved method applies to AC-LED packages, remote-phosphor AC-LED packages, AC-LED arrays or modules, and remote-phosphor AC-LED arrays or modules. This document specifies measurement methods under single-cycle AC operation as well as continuous AC operation with an AC frequency of 50 Hz or 60 Hz; in both cases, “thermal conditions” of AC-LEDs refers to their junction temperatures.

This document does not cover LED lamps, LED light engines, or LED luminaires; it also does not cover DC-LEDs, which are within the scope of IES LM-85- 14 (Section 2.1).
