1. SCOPE

The materials, treatment and conditions specified in this standard sha. ll apply t o the manufacture of drills, step drills and centre drills of all dimensions for severe wear applications. Severe weax applications such as abrasive, high strength workpiece and/or high cutting speeds require the use of material U-MAOO3-8502. For less severe applications and heavy duty d r i l l s U-MAOO3-85Ol is preferred due t o the superior toughness.
