Research Team FHC-02 conducted two case studies to illustrate how Triple Bottom Line (TBL) analysis can help organizations outgrow the traditional dependence on first costs to guide design decisions. TBL's life cycle calculations help decision-makers see the long-term superiority of the high-performance systems used in these two new buildings by considering three "bottom lines": financial benefits, environmental benefits, and human benefits.
