Full Description
This standard covers dry-barrel fire hydrants with compression shutoff (opening against or with the pressure) or gate shutoff for use in water supply systems in all climates, including those where freezing temperatures occur.
Major changes made to the standard in this revision include:
1. A definition for bury depth was added.2. A provision for nonthreaded connection was added.
3. Revised to allow for an inert, corrosion-resistant coating, such as epoxy.
4. A table was expanded to include loss of head at 2,000-gpm flow rates.
5. The maximum permissible loss of head for hydrants was revised.
